WE ARE 501C3 APPROVED FROM THE IRS!
Donations are out of this world. An ANONYMOUS fiber fairy donated through Fidelity Charitable this week, in the amount of ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS. Oh my gosh.
Here’s how it went down:
I’m sitting in my windowless cubicle farm, and a call comes in on my cell from Texas. Since I definitely don’t get calls from there, I didn’t answer. No voicemail. Minutes later, a donation message from Square Space came in to the FF email. Fidelity Charity contacting to discuss a donation. Gave a reference number.
Still suspecting this is a scam, I gave them a call anyway. Because - donations make this thing work.
And. It. Was. Real.
A thousand dollars real.
I was speechless. I cried. All the feels.
The person wants to remain anonymous, says the Fidelity lady. Fine.
But can you PLEASE thank them for me. Like a bazillion times. Good talk.
What will this be dedicated to? (1) Trademark, first of all. (2) Give A Stitch Kits. (3) Spreading the word. Hoping we get on the map for the MadTown Yarn Shop Hop in October. Going to research the cost of getting a table at some local festivals, such as Wisconsin Sheep & Wool, YarnCon Chicago, Bodegas at Breese Stevens, the like.
